Dashboard veteran, Scott Hocking, has begun construction on a site-specific artwork in the woods of rural North Georgia. Commissioned by Dashboard, the piece is located at Hambidge Center for Arts and Sciences, and is part of Hambidge's new commitment to present permanent, site-specific artworks within the natural landscape.

The work will use various natural materials such as Georgia red clay and iron, and will be treated to grow live moss to mimic its surroundings. Scott is exploring themes related to the site such as Cherokee culture and history, sacred geometry, the symbol of the turtle, and the area’s stone ruins.

OPENING EVENT: Eclipse Party

The piece will be unveiled August 21, 2017. Join us!
