She obtained her BBA in Managerial Science from Georgia State University, and studied International Business at Chiang Mai University in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She is a working artist, utilizing the opportunities and constraints of digital space to research social phenomena of the material world. She is currently interested in the function of identity, dreaming of futures beyond oppressive systems, defining freedom, reworking ideas of justice and integrating mediums such as illustration, code, design, animation, 3D modeling & VR to communicate, explore and bridge her personal perceptions of these issues, as well as the variations in perceptions between different social identities. In 2015, she was chosen as a semi-finalist in the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series Competition, and since then has exhibited work at MINT Gallery, Wish Gallery, and Mason Murer, as well as publicly at Visions of the Future (Spokane) and Illumine (Atlanta). She’s been a resident at the Recurse Center (NY) and Laboratory Interactive Art Residency (WA), and has received grants from NBAF and Red Bull Arts.
When Chrissy’s not writing captions or making art, she enjoys watching anime, playing Sudoku, visiting art galleries and falling into PopSci rabbit holes.
