a forward-thinking roadmap to transform one of Georgia’s most vital industrial corridors into a place of creative identity, cultural expression, and visual cohesion.
The Fulton Industrial Boulevard Community Improvement District Public Art & Placemaking Strategy, developed in collaboration with the Fulton Industrial Boulevard Community Improvement District (FIB) and Kimley-Horn, positions public art as a catalyst for reimagining infrastructure, not just as functional space, but as a canvas for storytelling, pride, and connectivity.
Aligned with a broader district plan addressing transportation, bicycle and pedestrian access, transit enhancements, redevelopment, and visioning for future growth, the public art and placemaking component identifies opportunities to build a stronger sense of place. While the district currently features one permanent sculpture and a legacy installation from the 1960s, Dashboard was tasked with developing a process and strategy to guide the introduction of 3–4 new site-specific public art installations. These works will bring thematic consistency, elevate the corridor’s visual identity, and ensure it reflects the people who work, live, and travel through it every day.
