ART in the PARK: RADIANT

Woodruff Park – Atlanta, GA
December 5, 2024 – January 5, 2025

Opening Reception
December 5th, 4:30 – 6:00 PM
Woodruff Park
91 Peachtree St, Atlanta, GA

An installation by Eddie Farr inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a symphony of light and movement, drawing inspiration from nature's elegance and the festive spirit of the winter season.

Installed along the central path of Woodruff Park, the work features towering conical sculptures that spiral upwards, evoking the dynamic sway of pine trees in a gust of wind. Warm, glowing tones radiate from within each structure, creating an interplay between light and form that echoes both organic rhythms and technological precision.

As visitors stroll through the park with these glowing sculptures, RADIANT offers a moment of reflection—an opportunity to connect with the beauty of seasonal transitions and the timeless joy that accompanies shared spaces of light.

Featured Performers

NADYA ZEITLIN

Nadya is a dance designer, and the executive artistic director of Bautanzt Here – Atlanta's only purely site-specific dance theatre company.

In her works, Nadya weaves dance and theatre into the environment, creating a unique language to tell meaningful and visually engaging stories in unconventional spaces.

She gets inspiration from abstract visual art, industrial architecture, fashion, artists she collaborates with and spaces they produce in.

Her goal is to create valuable art experiences for audiences, putting their routine on pause, suggesting them a gift of wonder and a food for thought.

Nadya's practice is driven by her interest in expanding the definitions of where dance can happen, how public spaces can be perceived and interacted with, and who is considered a target demographic for dance. She aims to share the beauty and power of dance with a wide audience, including those who wouldn’t usually attend dance or art events.

DAN CAREY BAILEY

I am a composer. I create scores for films, write and arrange for contemporary ensembles and produce multi layered recordings for my own solo material. My focus is on minimalism but I am not restrained by genre. I find my influences in the complex repetitions of Steve Reich’s hypnotizing orchestrations, the despair of Dimitri Shostakovitch’s dissonant and passionate melodies and the wild freedom of electric-era Miles Davis’ themes and improvisations.

I am a producer and audio engineer, I have been helping others create and capture their music since I was young. I work with artists in a variety of styles, from recording contemporary classical ensembles to 13-piece big bands. I captured and produced live recordings at Broad Street Visitors Center, a recording studio I built and operated from 2013 to 2021. I am now working out of a studio in East Atlanta

I am musician. In my studio I play piano, celeste, vibraphone, drums and percussion, violin, cello, upright bass, electric bass and guitar, clarinet, alto clarinet, bass clarinet, soprano saxophone, esraj, bonang, taishokoto and erhu. I perform live primarily on guitar, upright and electric bass.
