Curated by Dashboard and presented by ATL Airport Art, A Moment of Stillness is a large-scale photo mural by Atlanta-based photographer Nicole Hernandez, commissioned by Never Whisper Justice.
A Moment of Stillness is part of a much larger body of work that showcases black women in a very intimate, honest and vulnerable way.
A connection through identity and individuality, this photo is one small moment captured in between laughs and conversation amongst friends. Perhaps it's the intertwining of arms, or perhaps it's the direct eye contact from Amindi, but this is certain: Closeness and togetherness can be felt. Shot at Kenneth Hahn Park, a natural oasis in the middle of West LA.
The mural can be found in the Domestic North Terminal at the escalator landing above door N2.
About Nicole Hernandez
Nicole Hernandez is a film photographer and director based in Atlanta, GA. Known as a provocateur, she captures consciousness in moments of sensuality and softness.
Her emotionally charged visuals expose the inherent vulnerability in our shared universe. She strives to tell stories that feel honest, intuitive and familiar.

That is the bliss we crave and call forth
Connection brings peace
We’re all searching for meaning
